Overview
instaStop helps you use Instagram more intentionally using Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls frameworks. The app’s core functionality works without a backend. You do not need to create an account, log in, sign up by email, or create a cloud profile.
Information instaStop does not collect
instaStop does not collect personal data from users for off-device processing. It does not send usage history, selected purposes, Screen Time tokens, or session data to LABH servers.
Information stored on your device
instaStop stores app settings, selected purposes, appearance preferences, intentional-session history, abandoned-open records, and Screen Time configuration tokens required for protection locally on your device. These remain on-device.
Screen Time / Family Controls
instaStop uses Apple’s FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks to provide Screen Time-based protection. Where applicable, application selections are represented using Apple’s privacy-preserving opaque tokens. These tokens support protection without giving instaStop access to Instagram content.
Instagram access
instaStop does not access Instagram credentials, log into Instagram, read DMs, posts, or Reels, inspect Instagram content, or use the Instagram API.
Analytics and advertising
instaStop does not use remote analytics or a third-party crash-reporting service. It contains no advertising.
Data sharing
instaStop does not sell, rent, or share user data with advertisers or data brokers.
Data retention and deletion
Locally stored instaStop data remains on your device while you use the app. Deleting the app removes its locally stored data, subject to normal iOS and system behavior. Offloading an app is different from deleting it and may retain its data. Apple manages Screen Time authorization and system state; deleting instaStop does not guarantee removal or reset of all Apple-managed Screen Time state.
Third-party services
Apple provides the Screen Time system used by instaStop. Instagram is a trademark and service of Meta. instaStop is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta or Instagram.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as instaStop changes. The effective date above will be updated when the policy is revised.
